Take time to look at this site. Useful components are `hidden´ in places like the FAQ area of the student section. Each front page seems to contain little information but the links connect to broader information. Students will be inspired by the video clips of robots students created for competition.

Description:

This robotics site carries lots of information to get started with robotic creations. Visit the FAQ area in the student section for lots of links to sites to start with. In the archive find video presentations and text from past webcasts with robotics engineers. The project is intended to involve students in technical fields, therefore it is broad in its scope and provides many opportunities for entry points for students and teachers of any level. From the site: "The ultimate objective of NASA's Robotics Alliance Project is to expand the national resource of experienced, talented robotics experts that are available to develop future robotics systems needed by NASA and support the national investment in the robotics market. In part, this is done by supporting a series of robotics competition programs that inspire students to become involved with technical fields, facilitating robotics curriculum enhancements at all educational levels, and developing a national clearinghouse for robotics education and career resources."

Possible uses:

This site isn´t singular in its teaching about robotics. It is a resource tool for teachers and students to find links to lots of sites related to the many facets of robotic engineering. This site can work for beginner and advanced students. Teachers can find information and tools to use in teaching and information for students wishing to enter robotics competitions. In the Educator section, lessons are posted by grade level and teachers can find professional development information.
